Zoey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie are apparently engaged. I know about 5 guys and 4 girls who will be totally bummed and stuff for weeks*.

something about her annoys me (however, i like her sister!) but i really really liked she & him. even though i didnt want to.

i have never heard death cab before but their name annoys me. but i see them everywhere! so they cant be that indie, can they?

Death Cab for Cutie is actually taken from the pretty twisted Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band song featured in Magical Mystery Tour... one of the more surreal Beatles moments. I like the name better than the band (but to be fair, they have a few truly great songs). No, not really "indie". But what is really? The new "alternative".

I LOOOOVE Emily. Zoey... eh. She's a little too cutesy or something. Mostly, I think her voice is *kinda* terrible, but I actually like a couple of the She & Him songs despite this. And the video for "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?" is awesome. And I have liked M. Ward for years, so that helps.

Yeah, it's all a bit too twee. If they were hollywood types, I would say it was all a PR gimmick. Maybe it is. I'm sure both their sales will go up from the news.

Yeah, I never got the Gibbard craze. His singing voice actually ruins some otherwise good songs too.
